This chandelier was just what we wanted for our space! Good price, elegant yet simple, not so bulky as to dominate room, light-weight. Requires 6 candle-light bulbs (we bought LED 25W dimmable which gives enough light without being overly bright as 40W may be). It came quickly by FedEx in a well-packed box with clear instructions. I honestly was super excited about this light fixture online, but in person I was a bit underwhelmed. The shades are not white as shown in the stock photo- more of an ivory. The unit itself seems kind of cheap and we had to bend the arms of it a bit to make it look straight. For a more casual dining space, I think this would be ok. I’m not sure if it’s worth the cost.. I was looking for a reasonably priced version of the RH 19th C. English Openwork Lantern and after much research settled on this - I am very very pleased!! Chose satin nickel color. Light is well made. Easy to install. Was going to cover the candlesticks with white sleeves, but decided to leave them silver for now. FYI, the candles are approx. 4.75" tall, so you would probably have to order them online - two major home improvement retailers only carry them in 4". For reference, my room is approx. 10'x14' with a sloped ceiling as you can see in the photo. Light is hanging at the point where the ceiling is approx. 9' over the table. I have 4 60 watt incandescent bulbs in the fixture and it is more than bright enough for the room. I always dim it. Warning: It will look huge when you pull it out of the box, but in my room at least, once hung, it looks great! I ordered this on the phone and the salesperson was super nice. The chandelier is what I like for my dining room. I hired a pro electrician to install the chandelier. The worst part of it is that you have to put the glass first for the candle hole, and then install the E-12 candlebra light in that tiny glass cover. I have to install the light bulbs with my tiny hand, still very difficult. It's very " not thought of" design....very frustrating. Electrician's hand definitely can't install it. Love our new fixture! The glass had a couple of small scratches, but nothing worth sending back over, so that's why I gave it a 4. The glass did have this weird fog/haze that did not go away after cleaning with window cleaner. Based on the description and photographs, I expected the shades to be white, but they are really ivory (almost beige) color. Because the shades were not white (or even off white), I had to change some of the other decor in my dining room. It is also difficult to get the shades to stay level and the whole chandelier to stay level.
