I wanted something that would add a decorative element without overpowering the room or distracting the eye. Since the entrance is a distance from the fan, the view is slightly upward. Lovely fan. We installed in our living room. The instructions were not great, but we managed to figure it out. My husband and I put it together and hung it up in about 3 hours. Only rated it 4 stars because I thought it would push a little more air around than it actually does, especially for the amount of blades it has!
