Suitable on an elegant table or for a single serving, the salad plate is both beautiful and functional.
Spode's Italian pattern has been in continuous production now for 210 years. It shouldn't work: a Kakiemon Japanese border married to an Italian caprice, but it does and continues to delight. It has changed in many ways through the years, and some of the current changes...thicker, less white body...too much consistency in the engravings...disappoint me, but the sturdier ware has it's advantages, too, for modern needs such as microwaving and the dishwasher.
