These are very, very thin - definitely need to be ironed properly as each wrinkle will show. They are pale gray, but with a green tinge. They will look nice with snow white napkins. Placemats are a beautiful pattern and color is vibrate just as shown when ordering. The size is large and you can mix and match several colors of serving ware. Weight is perfect to protect table but easy for washing.There is a very strong smell, so recommend immediate washing or dry cleaning. I placed outside once opened. Very pretty fall or year round. Cheery. These are thin enough that I will be able to arrange the napkins like bows. They are going to need to be ironed. Vibrant colors even after washing.
