We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools. I ordered this stool in the Alcala Fawn. It is very comfortable and the color of the fabric is great for minimizing stains. However, I am not crazy about the back of the stool. It almost looks like they ran out of wood while making the chair. I would've liked the gap to have seemed more purposeful. I'm still deciding if I will keep it and order more for my kitchen island..
