We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools. We love the shape and size of these chairs, and we especially love the color. We're using one of them in our entry way as an easy spot to sit and put on shoes, and the other in a guest room, but plan to use them both at our dining table when needed for extra company. The only thing we weren't happy with was the rough finish of the wood in places. It was almost as if it got wet after the wood was sanded, because there were strange rough patches here and there. We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools.
