Ultimately I'm very pleasesd with my purchase. It does require a LOT of fluffing. I spent what felt like an hour separating the branches and got sick of doing it while there are still some huge gaps. Perhaps someone with more patience and meticulousness would do better. Even with the gaps, it looks really full. The "trunk" is covered with needle-like material so that helps a lot. The "needles" are very realistic. The tips of the branches are made of a different material and look very life-like. Very easy to set up. Do yourself a favor and actually measure the area you will use for the tree. My tree is too tall for my angel, and even with the back half up against a wall with the branches still folded up, I can't use that side of my couch, but that's on me. Looks very cute and the size is perfect for a small apartment (I got the 5'). It wasn't too difficult to fluff the branches out but the placement of the light seem pretty random and not well-thought it. There are some patches with no lights and some with excess lights. The tree is pretty, but not quite perfect. I wasn’t expecting the “gold glitter” on the cashmere pine to look the way it does—the tips look like they were dipped in thick glitter, so it appears a bit clumpy and stuck together. It also made a huge glitter mess while fluffing. Still, once it’s set up, it looks nice enough that I’ve decided to keep it.
