I purchased the rustic black stained version originally for my smaller tree. However, it looks even nicer with our 9' tree. The proportion is better with this tree's wider base. Keep in mind that the interior of the box is not stained, but the contrast is not an issue. I also tucked in a black throw to further camouflage the tree trunk.
