The finish on this shelf is lovely. The perfect shade for the natural beauty of walnut. The black brackets are heavy duty and have no imperfections. I love that both the shelf and the brackets are matte-just looks so expensive. It all has a quality feel and weight. I have not hung it yet (plaster walls) but plan to have it hold some books. This is a high quality shelf and the wood grain is beautiful. It’s solid wood and you can tell it by looking. The hardware is heavy duty and the instructions are clear. You definitely want a shelf that will mount securely and give you confidence to place delicate items and this is that shelf. It might be slightly pricier than others but the quality is worth it.
