Very nice fabric, however it is not specifically room-darkening as other lines curtains might be. That being said, we are using it in the West facing window of our dining room where the sun can be blinding during dinner time and this curtain works great to darken enough to be comfortable at the table. The white is creamy, not bright and the curtain gives somewhat of a cabin-y, mountain-y, feel.

The curtains appear to be nice, I personally do not care for the fabric as mine feel like they have a coating on them. I have yet to install them as the bedroom is under construction currently. I am not sure why they are described as room darkening. They seem light normal curtains to me and when holding them up to the light I do not see a darkening quality to them. But all in all, they will do the job from a decorating aspect.
