One of our most popular original designs for almost a decade, the Malta Handwoven Wool Rug has a softly textured feel and subtle herringbone pattern. A designer and editor favorite, it's made entirely by hand. Its slightly weathered effect will lend a touch of coastal charm to your space.

This Oriental area rug anchors your home with a classic, time-tested aesthetic that integrates smoothly with traditional decor. It's woven from polyester fibers to deliver a reliable foundation underfoot that handles daily traffic effortlessly. The classic design introduces a balanced mix of muted tones, adding instant character and underfoot softness without complicating your current layout. Its low-maintenance material simplifies cleaning routines, making it an easy addition to busy spots. Plus, it serves as an excellent layering piece to bring warmth to your indoor space. We recommend pairing this piece with a rug pad to prevent slipping.

It's a bit lighter than I thought, but it's really pretty and ties all my colors in nicely. Actually the color palette they included in the pics with the 4 colors, were all my living room colors exactly (furniture, draperies, floor, wall decor), which is what kind of sold me on it to begin with. It brightens up all the neutral I have going on and is a nice change from my mid-darker gray pattern area rug I have now. It's got a bit of a sheen to it as well.. Mary. Rensselaer, NY. The meticulously woven construction of these pieces boasts durability and will provide natural charm to your decor space. Made with polyester in Turkey, and has a medium pile.

Colors are not exactly as pictured, but I'm still pleased with the rug. It's fairly thin and if I was putting it in a higher traffic area I would probably purchase a pad. It feels soft to the touch and seems to be good quality for the price. What I expected.. Anonymous. Fri Mar 29 2024

This is the second rug that I have gotten from Birch Lane that I love! I got it in a runner for our kitchen and it matches perfectly. I will be purchasing some padding for under it since we have it on hard wood floors. We are slowly revamping our house because it's pretty bare, but this rug contributed a lot of texture and beauty!. Great for homes with pets and high-traffic areas like entryways, mudrooms, and kitchens.

The rug is better than I imagined. Looks high quality, is soft and washable, doesn’t require a pad! Highly recommend!. Katherine. Fredericksburg, VA. Tue Jun 30 2026

This hand-loomed area rug adds a cozy foundation to your space. Made from a blend of wool and polyester, its green hue and thin beige stripe is a subtle design that adds visual interest without detracting from the room's design scheme. The abrash technique creates a rich, multi-shaded effect, while a top stitch stripe adds a finishing touch. And it's safe for use over a heated floor. We recommend rolling this rug out over a pad to keep it from shifting.
