If you are not familiar with jute rugs please note that they are a natural fiber that does shed quite a bit. It is a beautiful thick rug. It is soft kind of like a woven sweater. However, like a wool sweater, it is currently shedding. When my daughter sits on it, it gets little fuzzies of wool on her pants and the floor around. It really is soft and cozy and a good quality.
