If you are not familiar with jute rugs please note that they are a natural fiber that does shed quite a bit. I do find that the color is a little bit darker than what was shown in the stock photos, but that was OK for my use. I was surprised by how light the rug is overall, both in color and construction. It's beautiful but with 3 active dogs, I'm thinking that it won't last me as long as I would have hoped. I purchased the 3'6 x 5'6 size, and it goes perfectly with my new bedding. The rug was very well packaged and protected from getting wet or damaged. May I suggest that when you receive it, you unroll it and re-roll it in the opposite direction for a brief time so that when you place it, the corners will lay perfectly flat. It’s thick and extremely well made. Has a hand-woven quality and feels nice underfoot. Yes, it’s jute so it has that jute smell but I love it. It’s not rough and scratchy like many jutes-just textural. Was packaged super carefully and arrived in excellent condition.
