The rug is gorgeous. The colors are great and the pile height is lovely. I have a thick pad underneath for extra coziness. I highly recommend. To note, the rug appears to be on sale a lot, so I suggest watching and waiting for the best price. I bought it on sale and then looked at rug on the website again, the day it was delivered. The same rug / size / color was offered on sale for an additional $300 less! I was very sad and frustrated when I contacted customer service to learn that Birch Lane does not price match (like many other companies do for an item that goes on sale within 7 - 14 days of your purchase). Perfect for my coastal home. I have a small ocean view, and wanted something for the back room that picked up the blue ocean and sky hues, and this is spot-on. The product photos here on the website are absolutely accurate-probably more so than my photos, due to lighting issues. The rug arrived on time, and is exactly as pictured. Its more of a jute than a soft rag-rug type. The channels are sturdy, which I like. (feels like a foot massage, lol) I put a cushy felt pad underneath to give it a little more oomph. It was a little stinky on arrival, as many manufactured products wrapped in plastic are, so I put a fan on it for a bit and let it air out-no big deal at all.
