The background of this rug is definitely TAN, not cream as shown in the photos. It was pretty disappointing. In my opinion, the rug looks dirty. Other than that, the quality seems great - would be so cute if it was actually cream or white!

The quality of the product is great, but I found it way darker in person than online. What appears as a cream background is much more of a tan in person. Scallops are not even on the edges, but the rug is well made, thick, comfortable and had no strange odor. I would order from this brand again but plan on returning this rug.
