Summerton Teak Solid Wood Deck Box

Beautiful finish and looks even better in person! The deck box was very easy to assemble, and the quality seems like it will hold up well over time. The box is very sturdy and well made. My only knock down on stars was the first end section I had was not tapped for the soft close arms and could not be assembled. Birch LN customer service was 15 Star!! They sent an entire replacement end section within a few days of notification. The other knock on the 5 stars was the replacement wouldn’t quite let the lid open and stay open all the way like the previous end sections. They just seemed to fit better. For the price paid for this box Quality Control should be much better. Regardless I highly recommend this box for looks, quality and functionality. I also love that it is ventilated on the bottom for good air circulation.

I went with the 60" deck box. The box itself is gorgeous, spacious and very heavy. However, like other reviewers, the soft close hinges do not allow the box to fully open. We intend to use this for our electric pool vacuum which is heavy and large and it would be nice to have the lid open completely. We also intend to store pool toys and swimmies in here which means our young kids will be opening it and I am concerned about them pinching their fingers. For the time being, we will not install the soft close mechanism. I've attached a pictures of it fully open, the angle it would be with the soft close mechanism and what it looks like with our Dolphin Nautilus CC Supreme inside (you can see there's plenty of space still). Lastly, after I purchased this, I realized that the company does not state the origin source of the teak wood or whether it is sustainably harvested, which means it probably is not. If I had noticed this prior to purchasing, I probably would not have bought it as I do not want to support detrimental logging practices and/or deforestation.
