In the early 1920s, exposed-bulb light fixtures were jettisoned in favor of opaque glass globes that disguised the light source. These pieces found popularity predominantly in schoolhouses, giving this style its name. Here, we start with a classic schoolhouse glass shape and take it up a notch with lovely fluting that beautifully diffuses the light. The uncomplicated metalwork and the iconic glass shape call to mind a time when the world seemed a simpler place.

Perfect light fixture to blend historic and modern in a bathroom in a 100+ year old home. Stylish and classic!. Stacy. Washington, Dc. Sun Jun 18 2023

The Daze Medium Pendant casts a soft, calming glow that feels right at home over a dining table or in an entryway. Articulated panels of hand-painted milk glass are joined by slim metal ribs, creating a traditional drum silhouette that turns gently luminous when switched on.

This 1-light schoolhouse pendant has an adjustable height, so you can make sure you get just the right illumination over your dining room table or in your entryway. It's also compatible with a dimmer switch for adjustable ambiance. This pendant features a clear glass schoolhouse shade for a farmhouse look, and is suspended from a slim downrod and caged finial for a simple look. This fixture takes a single 60W bulb, which is sold separately – we recommend picking up an Edison bulb for just the right pop of retro flair.

These could not be more perfect. I have been searching for pendants for above our island for over 9 months. We had three, tiny, builder-grade pendants in this space before and they did nothing for our kitchen. I wanted to be sure the size of whatever we bought would look appropriate with our tall ceilings and open floor plan. These do such a wonderful job of filling the space without looking crowded. We have a lot of black in our house (curtain rods, dining room chairs, etc) and although these are technically a dark, dark brown, they still look great. I don't foresee wanting to paint them or anything. Clean out the glass and consider using gloves when you're installing to avoid dust and fingerprints inside the pendants. Other than that, enjoy. They're fantastic. :). Hannah. Denton, TX. Wed Oct 26 2022

As much, as a work of art as a lighting fixture, pendant lights elevate the look of any space. Plus, they spare your drywall, both from cutting new holes and patching old ones. Inspired by the industrial era of design, this pendant drops rustic charm into space. It showcases a dark antique brass or polished nickel chain, suspending a matte black or brushed steel and opal-etched glass shade. One bulb of up to 75 W sits behind the glass shade (bulb not included). This fixture is dimmable.

I love it so much! My only disappointment is that the coloring is way different than shown online. The weave is more about white color... Laurie. Fuquay-varina, NC. Sun Jul 20 2025

A beautiful pendant. (fyi. This is not the smaller semi-flush mount light in one of the pictures). We loved it but unfortunately it was too big for our foyer. The finish looked nice too.. Peggy. Mon Jul 15 2024

I’ll have to add my review after my renovation is completed. I’m using two of these pendant lamps over night stands. They were perfect when I saw them. Modern, simple, and will ‘bookend’ the King bed. Renovation is complete. The two pendant lights add a lovely ambiance to the room. Our electrician installed remotes, so they can be turned on at the door, or offon from bedside.. Tamra. Mesa, AZ. Sun Aug 13 2023

The four-light shade pendant by Chapman and Myers was inspired by a vintage mid-century French sconce with a simple metal armature. The minimal cruciform structure of the metal frame is the main feature of the design. The frame outlines and supports the inner cylindrical shade. All of the assembly hardware for installing the inner shade was engineered to be hidden in order to maintain the clean and simple aesthetic of the light.

Clean-lined and smooth on the surface, closer inspection shows Burdett’s sumptuous side. Alluding to late nineteenth-century opulence, we adorn the interior of Burdett’s shade with richly gathered pleating. While the pendant’s subdued silhouette serves a contemporary sensibility, its lavish surprise rewards close appreciation.

Beautiful pendants. Generous in size for large islands, gorgeous detail in the 3-link chain and beautiful pleating in the inside of the shade. Gorgeous!. Jk. Kansas City. Fri Mar 26 2021

The airy and artistic soleil dual mount beautifully brings the outdoors in. Whether hung as a semi-flush or pendant, the hand-arranged natural bamboo design contrasts against the white fabric shade creating a captivating look.

This fixture is as handsome as it is unusual. The light source is completely encased in a fine linen shade, then engage the cone in a metal frame, attached with a question-mark hanger loop. A pleasing conical finial of metal extends from the base, finishing the piece off.
