In the early 1920s, exposed-bulb light fixtures were jettisoned in favor of opaque glass globes that disguised the light source. These pieces found popularity predominantly in schoolhouses, giving this style its name. Here, we start with a classic schoolhouse glass shape and take it up a notch with lovely fluting that beautifully diffuses the light. The uncomplicated metalwork and the iconic glass shape call to mind a time when the world seemed a simpler place.

Perfect light fixture to blend historic and modern in a bathroom in a 100+ year old home. Stylish and classic!. Stacy. Washington, Dc. Sun Jun 18 2023

This 1-light schoolhouse pendant has an adjustable height, so you can make sure you get just the right illumination over your dining room table or in your entryway. It's also compatible with a dimmer switch for adjustable ambiance. This pendant features a clear glass schoolhouse shade for a farmhouse look, and is suspended from a slim downrod and caged finial for a simple look. This fixture takes a single 60W bulb, which is sold separately – we recommend picking up an Edison bulb for just the right pop of retro flair.

These could not be more perfect. I have been searching for pendants for above our island for over 9 months. We had three, tiny, builder-grade pendants in this space before and they did nothing for our kitchen. I wanted to be sure the size of whatever we bought would look appropriate with our tall ceilings and open floor plan. These do such a wonderful job of filling the space without looking crowded. We have a lot of black in our house (curtain rods, dining room chairs, etc) and although these are technically a dark, dark brown, they still look great. I don't foresee wanting to paint them or anything. Clean out the glass and consider using gloves when you're installing to avoid dust and fingerprints inside the pendants. Other than that, enjoy. They're fantastic. :). Hannah. Denton, TX. Wed Oct 26 2022

This 1-light single bell pendant hangs a traditional look over your kitchen island or entryway. It features a rounded canopy, and it's attached to a classic metal chain that's adjustable to suit rooms big and small. At the end of the chain, a decorative finial holds on to a glass bell-shaped shade that accommodates one medium-base bulb up to 100W that shines light in bright style. Best of all, this pendant can be used with a dimmer switch and is easily disassembled to clean.

It's a simple but elegant pendant that hangs in my kitchen beautifully.. Dayanara. Charlotte, NC. Thu Aug 08 2024

A clean take on a classic silhouette, this 1-light pendant shines just right above your kitchen island or dining table. It has a cone-shaped clear glass shade with a wide neck that gives a bit of heft to the design. We think it works just as well on its own as it does in a pair or a trio. This pendant also features a metal socket and hardware that look great with the glass. It accommodates one 60W bulb (sold separately) that you can install on a dimmer switch to get the light just right for family dinner.

These look great in our modern farmhouse. Although our house isn’t complete I love the look already. I struggled with knowing which size of pendant to get and these look great on our 9-10ft island. Stephannie. Waverly, IA. Tue Jan 29 2019
