I needed lights in a dark bookshelf/desk unit and these worked. Pretty finish (more gold than brass, but still nice). Had to hire a magician/electrician to cut hole in base of bookshelf, mount lights on back wall of shelf and drop cords (attached to extension cord) to the socket. Wish the cords were longer on these lights. I used an LED 70 watt (you can go up to 100 watt LED in these fixtures per my electrician. Shades don’t sit flat on the sconce due to the weird wiring it requires on top of the bulb. It’s really an odd thing, and makes our four shades in our bathroom lopsided if someone even moves.
