The lamp arrived well packaged to protect the glass base and the shade. (Helpful hint to unbox with minimal stryrofoam fallout: open both ends of the box and push the contents through like a sleeve. Then cut the tape holding the styrofoam.) It's a nice design and I bought 2 for my bedroom.
