These plates are casual style and good quality. I chose these plates because of the durable glaze or surface finish. And that they're dishwasher and microwave approved. My previous everyday plates showed the dark gray marks from the silverware. These plates, so far, are not showing any dark scratch marks. I would have given a better rating, but I ordered 2 sets of these plates and they shipped separately and arrived in 2 different dyelots. One order was lighter with less speck marks and the other box is darker with more speck marks. I'll mix them together and use them for casual dining.
