It has a country vibe standing alone but depending on your decor this can become something contemporary or even industrial chic. So versatile, COMFORTABLE (totally the most important!) and very well-made. Solid wood makes this so sturdy and no creaking when sitting down. Stools are stunning. However, there is a problem with either the shipping/handling or quality control for this particular item. I ordered 3 stools and had to get 2 replaced.
