I bought this fruit bowl set to use as rice bowls, and the size works very well for that purpose. The weight is okay—not as light as bone china, but still comfortable for everyday use. I also bought the Fitz and Floyd pasta dinner bowl set, and that set is more off-white, while these fruit bowls are pure white. Because of that, they don’t match perfectly, even though they are from the same company. I wish I had known the color difference before ordering. Unfortunately the protective packing material used to secure the item is non biodegradable styrofoam peanuts. I can’t Styrofoam peanuts are so environmentally unfriendly. There are so many alternative packing options in the day and age. I can’t recycle them and don't want them to end up in a landfill so now I have to try to repurpose them. There are a lot!
