We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools. Much taller than I anticipated. I almost have to get a running start to jump on the stool. It is very sturdy and solid. It arrived in one piece so the only assembly required was unboxing.
