It was up one flight of stairs, but directly at the top--nothing insane. It wasn't until my husband pointed out that the box had "white glove delivery" printed on it that they acquiesced and placed them in the correct room. This armoire is the type of piece that brings old world charm to a modern space. I love how it brings a sense of story to the room. The biggest pain points for me were that it arrived with a big, jagged chip on the front leg, some odd stains on the wood in some spots that didn’t match the finish, and there were chips in finishing wax used to seal the wood that uncover an entirely different color underneath. I know the piece is intentionally designed to look vintage, but those specific elements don’t appear intentional. I did appreciate that all the doors are lockable, which wasn’t specified in the description, so that was a nice surprise, but the exterior plate covering the actual hole of the of the locking mechanism on one door doesn’t line up, so unfortunately it doesn’t lock. The doors that don’t have a key plate on the exterior do have sliding locks on the interior top and bottom. All in all, it’s truly beautiful, but not worth full price in the condition I received it.. However, I’ve had positive experiences with Wayfair in the past, so I decided to take the plunge and make the purchase during a sale. This dresser is well-made and incredibly heavy, which is a testament to its quality. The wood has a beautiful, inviting aroma, and the overall design is stunning. It truly exceeded my expectations. Of course, it’s not without its imperfections. There are a few knots and blemishes throughout the wood, but I find these features to be unique and add to the dresser’s charm. I don’t mind them at all they’re actually what I love most about it. The delivery was prompt, and the dresser was assembled and placed in my chosen room without any additional cost. The price was also significantly lower than other retailers, and the delivery team was respectful and professional throughout the process.
