Beautiful desk, incredibly solid, easy to assemble, very large and very heavy! Every piece of this desk is solid wood, which makes it extremely solid and very heavy. It is a bit larger than I would have liked, but I loved the design. It actually looks like a kitchen table. 3 drawers have adequate room for your daily essentials. Ordered in the worn oak color, looks as pictured. My only concern is the finish is not smooth, so it catches on dusting clothes or sleeves of clothing, which then lifts tiny splinters and then peels. I love my new desk! It's very sturdy & the side drawers are huge and could fit my laptop but for now holds a binder and 2 notebooks. They're lined with brown velvet (side drawers) and all 3 drawers glide very smoothly. The color is a medium gray/brown with some black and white mixed in & has a slight rustic quality as it's not entirely smooth but has some texture to it. My office is only 105" wide and this desk fits nicely centered in the room. My only wish is that it had a couple grommet holes to hide the wires but that's an inexpensive DIY and since the side drawer is big enough to hide my laptop, I might tuck that away in there also. I think this is a good quality piece. It did however arrived damaged. Looks like it was dropped. Some pieces were broken and the top looks like someone at the factory tried to fix it. The desk is beautiful and solidly built. It's so nice to actually have a desk NOT made of particle board. It looks great and the drawers are sturdy and come with some nice accessories like a wood inlay for pens and supplies., felt bottoms for 2 of the top drawers and the fully built in file cabinets. The desk also has a built in power supply for 2 electrical sockets and 2 USB ports. I wasn't sure what to expect since there were so few pictures posted but I am VERY happy with the desk. It came extremely well packaged and the only assembly necessary was attaching the 8 little legs. I ordered this desk that came with white glove delivery where they carry the box to the room of your choice, assemble (if needed) and take the packaging away. The 2 delivery men carried the box to the room but refused to assemble the desk and take the packaging away, claiming they are not Wayfair and didn't have time even though they acknowledged the invoice had white glove delivery. So, I put the desk together. It basically comes in 4 parts (the top, 2 sides and lower back piece that fits into the 2 side pieces. The instructions refer to the pieces as A, B, C, and D yet the pieces are labeled random letters (R, L,...) but it's not difficult to figure out which piece goes where and it's not hard to put together IF the 2 side pieces fit but they don't so it's impossible for more than 2 screws to fit (one on each side). To compound the problem, the hole in the side of the top piece is oval and the screw is circular. The desk is unstable and unsafe, especially for a child. I've called a carpenter/handyman to come and widen the oval hole so the screw can reach the side pieces. Not happy.. New To Town. Connecticut. Mon Apr 29 2024
