We purchased the white quarz countertop. It is exactly what we were looking for. Quality wood and countertop, looks more expensive than it was, and it is SOLID (400 lbs per the delivery team). It also has a huge amount of storage--no wasted space. We did not need any seating area and appreciated that this island utilized the underneath space for storage instead. The cabinet is lovely and quite solid. The wood is nice and the detail on the doors is quite nice. One of the doors was crooked upon arrival and needed tweaking at the hinges. It’s a substantial piece of furniture. I like the color and I like the dimensions. I wish that it had come in one piece and not had to be put together, but I’m sure it was too big to ship. My only other qualm is the drawers… They’re not soft close and you have to push them in and then give them another hard push to get them to close completely. It was very difficult from the photos and description online to tell that the entire cabinet, except for the top, is metal. I assumed that the legs and door frame were metal and the box was wood. It is being used in a butler’s pantry/mudroom, so we will have to be careful not to dent it. The one shelf creates two very tall, deep spaces that could use an extra shelf. Adding one to metal will be very difficult and shelf risers don’t come even close to 16 inches deep. This was one of the only pieces I found with a 40” width and extra height. The inside was extremely dirty as if it had been sitting in a warehouse for years and unfortunately, the inside bottom corner of the doors rub the cabinet floor, so opening and closing scraped the paint away immediately. I am torn whether I should return this or not because I could not find anything else that fit my space and needs this well without going custom. Amazing, solid farmhouse-style island. The crates are spacious and the drawers although short are handy as well. The bottom rack is also full of space even though it's only half of the island to make room for seating on the other side. It's very heavy but super movable with the wheels. The hooks and towel rack on the side are also a bonus! It's a beautiful antique white-washed wood color. It's rustic and beautiful. Well worth it.
