This armoire is the type of piece that brings old world charm to a modern space. I love how it brings a sense of story to the room. The biggest pain points for me were that it arrived with a big, jagged chip on the front leg, some odd stains on the wood in some spots that didn’t match the finish, and there were chips in finishing wax used to seal the wood that uncover an entirely different color underneath. I know the piece is intentionally designed to look vintage, but those specific elements don’t appear intentional. I did appreciate that all the doors are lockable, which wasn’t specified in the description, so that was a nice surprise, but the exterior plate covering the actual hole of the of the locking mechanism on one door doesn’t line up, so unfortunately it doesn’t lock. The doors that don’t have a key plate on the exterior do have sliding locks on the interior top and bottom. All in all, it’s truly beautiful, but not worth full price in the condition I received it.. I haven’t yet mounted this shelf but it has two nicely drilled out areas hidden in the back to secure it to the wall. I would suggest finding studs since this is a heavy duty shelf. The wood is beautifully solid and I love the lil detail. It adds a unique touch and gives security to more delicate items (I love the idea of a plant hanging over the side). It’s smooth and the wood grain is beautiful. The grooves on the top will be nice for plates or pictures if one prefers. I really like this shelf-it will go with traditional or modern design well..
