I am mostly pleased with these, considering the price. They arrived in perfect condition and look exactly as pictured. They blend well with the other wood colors and style in my living room. However I had hoped the wood would look more like real oak. The white glaze is much heavier than you can see on the photo, and it still retains a very strong smell. The white glaze is overdone, in my opinion, and makes the piece look like really fake wood, which I guess it is. I kind of wished I had ordered the very similar bookshelves without a back (made by a different manufacturer) because it doesnt say it has the glaze and also says it is made of oak and rubber wood. This piece is absolutely gorgeous! Our house has lower ceilings, so it looks much bigger than I imagined, but still looks stellar. It holds more than I thought it would, and really helps to pull our bedroom together a bit more. It is HEAVY! Thankfully the delivery guys were able to get it in the general location I wanted it, but I had to move it in order to get it anchored to the wall. I understand why the one delivery guy was acting put out and irritated. Having pieces that have arrived damaged in the past, I made sure to go over it with a fine-toothed comb and it was in excellent condition.
