We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools. Stools are stunning. However, there is a problem with either the shipping/handling or quality control for this particular item. I ordered 3 stools and had to get 2 replaced.
