Assembly is not difficult, although attaching the ceiling hub is a bit of a challenge. The fan and light operate from the same power source, so separate switches are not needed. All functions are on the single remote control. There is an option to program the fan to your phone, but I have not done this as yet. Overall, a great fan that looks good too.. Joseph. Henderson, NV.
