This is the perfect island and met our expectations. It wasn't too difficult to assemble, but I did have to redo one of the drawers to make sure the sliding wheels were going in the right direction. The box at delivery is extremely heavy so we disassembled the box and carried the pieces in one by one into the house. I feel bad for the Fed Ex delivery person who had to get it off the truck and left on our front sidewalk. The quality is very nice--good solid wood. The stainless steel top appears to be stainless wrapped around a board, but that's fine. I think it will hold up just fine. We plan to use it as a work station in the kitchen and with the open shelves we were able to clear out a lot of space from our small cabinets with pots and some pottery to display on the lower shelves.
