Ample storage space provides this sideboard its function while the striking black finish and rich brown wooden surface aid in its bold form. This really should not get 4 stars, but it is a beautiful piece of furniture and it was delivered undamaged and set up by a very polite delivery team. It was very difficult from the photos and description online to tell that the entire cabinet, except for the top, is metal. I assumed that the legs and door frame were metal and the box was wood. It is being used in a butler’s pantry/mudroom, so we will have to be careful not to dent it. The one shelf creates two very tall, deep spaces that could use an extra shelf. Adding one to metal will be very difficult and shelf risers don’t come even close to 16 inches deep. This was one of the only pieces I found with a 40” width and extra height. The inside was extremely dirty as if it had been sitting in a warehouse for years and unfortunately, the inside bottom corner of the doors rub the cabinet floor, so opening and closing scraped the paint away immediately. I am torn whether I should return this or not because I could not find anything else that fit my space and needs this well without going custom.
