These chairs are beautiful. They feel very sturdy and are surprisingly comfortable, given they don’t have a cushion. I was sad I had to return them. We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools. The barstools were able to be put together with relative ease and speed. They seem pretty sturdy and are very comfortable. They look great at our kitchen island and complement our decor nicely. We choose the GINGER color which has no orange tones to it at all and is very neutral, but not gray or white. love the look of the chair and it shipped in a good box doesn't require rassemblement, but did find the item I receive with a "used feeling "on the cushion when I first sit on it. I am only 125lb for reference. for the price for the stool, I would expect a more full well structured feeling of the cushion ...so that was a drawdown; but the appearance of the stool and the heights are great..
