These chairs are beautiful. They feel very sturdy and are surprisingly comfortable, given they don’t have a cushion. I was sad I had to return them. We ordered five of these stools. One came damaged and Birch Lane sent a new one. The cushions are a bit hard but expect will soften over time. The wood is a dark walnut stain which is what we wanted. The upholstery is beige with dark gray "flecks". The nylon protectors on the bottom of the legs really grab on our wood floor and make it difficult to move the stools.
