I am mostly pleased with these, considering the price. They arrived in perfect condition and look exactly as pictured. They blend well with the other wood colors and style in my living room. However I had hoped the wood would look more like real oak. The white glaze is much heavier than you can see on the photo, and it still retains a very strong smell. The white glaze is overdone, in my opinion, and makes the piece look like really fake wood, which I guess it is. I kind of wished I had ordered the very similar bookshelves without a back (made by a different manufacturer) because it doesnt say it has the glaze and also says it is made of oak and rubber wood. But those were each 100 more so I went with these.Whereas these are mostly engineered wood I believe. Once the smell wears away, Im sure Ill be happier with them.. Carol. Longboat Key, FL. This bookcase emulates the grand scale and elegance of an age-old library. It features distinguishing details like an upper arch, fluted corbels, dentil molding, and beadboard back paneling. Crafted from engineered wood, it comes in a warm brown finish for a heirloom vibe we simply love. Six shelf tiers provide ample room to organize books and show off traditional decor. At almost 8' tall and 40" wide, it makes a statement without taking up too much floor space. For extra safety and stability, we recommend getting a wall anchor (sold separately).

Looks very nice. Seems to be sturdy. More gray than the picture shows, and the back is made of particle board. Overall happy, but not as solid as I had hoped.. Claire. MI. Tue Feb 20 2024

The weathered brown oak finish is distressed to deliberately highlight its age and compliments the basic barn door style with heavy plank tops and timber legs. Lorna's classic look with rustic wood and authentic hardware has clearly withstood the test of time.

We bought four of these! The only complaint was that I paid for white glove delivery where they were supposed to assemble it. The guy was trying to just drop them off. We didn’t let him leave until we got what we paid for. We love them!. Lisa. Fairfax, VA. Mon Sep 28 2026

Loved finding bookcases this tall (94”) and wide (40”) and was able to make my office/studio wall look like a built-in. Lucky to find wood finish close to other elements we were using. While we don’t really need the ladder function, the rod detail makes the unit look unique and we didn’t purchase a ladder. Bring Americana vibes to your space with a large, storage-driven bookcase made from warm oak and oak veneer. Plenty of open shelving for storage and display, plus lower drawers and a slide-door compartment.

A well made piece of truly wood furniture indeed! I love my new bookcase! It is fairly tall, but works well in my primary suite with our 10’ tall ceiling. My favorite part, honestly, are the deeper than average shelves. I’m storing a mixture of some fairly large size books as well as a few LEGO sets I’ve built and it is perfect for both, all at once. Thanks for carrying this awesome piece of furniture that will be handed down generation after generation. 1st pic - See how much it holds, including hidden storage shelves at the bottom on the right. 2nd pic - Built in drawers. 3rd pic - See how deep the shelves are, even with books on it..
