Sumatra Upholstered Parsons Chair

I ordered these chairs a couple of years ago. They are quite sturdy and comfortable as well. They glide easily on the floor. The slipcovers are another matter. The fabric is thin, and when the light comes in at the kitchen windows, the legs show through the fabric. Although the performance fabric cold and gentle washes and air dries very nicely, the seams fray horribly. I zigzag-stitched the seams on all four chairs and this eliminated THAT problem. However, even with laundering on gentle cycle, “pilling” became an issue. Then I had to “shave” them with a hand-held sweater shaver. And, even though the slipcovers wash nicely, to look their best, you probably will want to steam them. This is all because I didn’t want the chemicals from the dry cleaning process in my home! Another issue is that the slits at the bottom look very cheap. They are NOT pleats, which would have looked far nicer. All in all, these are such a hassle to maintain! I just wish I could buy nicer slipcovers for the chairs.

Disappointed in the quality and color.

The chairs are beautiful. I have been researching linen slipcovered dining chairs for quite some time, and I am very satisfied with these. My only negative comment is that each chair takes approximately a half hour to assemble. I also suggest purchasing a small steamer to remove the folds on the fabric.

Good quality and easy to assemble!

Fairly easy to assemble and great little adjusters on the bottom of the front legs if needed to balance the chair one completed. Quality fabric and super comfy! They are beautiful and just what I had envisioned!
