I intended to buy an all-wood table, and that's how this is described. However, I'm pretty sure it's veneer--maybe with solid wood underneath. As others noted, the finish is not smooth. I plan to sand off the finish to make it smoother, and then polyurethane it to protect it. There doesn't seem to be a sealer over the stain.
The style is simple, which is what I wanted. Because it was white glove delivery, I didn't assemble it, so I can't say how well built it is, but it seems very sturdy. I have been online shopping for tables until I'm tired of it, so if my review isn't glowing, it could be because of exhaustion. Another table might have been exactly what I wanted, but for the price--and included white-glove shipping, this is fine.
