Simons Extendable Dining Table

I was so excited for this table, as I had looked for what felt like months to find the right one. Overall, it’s well built, heavy, and exactly the color I was looking for. Unfortunately, it arrived with what appeared to be sharpie or permanent marker marks under the finish. Customer service was great - we tried to clean it with Murphy’s Oil Soap and going over with a dry erase marker to see if they could be removed. This didn’t work, so they requested a new top, which was denied by the distributormanufacturer as they described that the marks were appropriate for a distressed finish. Ultimately, customer care sent a replacement table - and I crossed my fingers! A few weeks later… my new table is better, but still has small marks throughout the top. If the marks don’t bother you, then I definitely recommend as it’s a solid, beautiful piece. If not, I’d recommend finding another table.

Do Not Buy. Awful customer service and awful experience all around. Product description says wood scoring and rub through distressing which were desired. What showed up was a piece that someone took a pencil or marker and doodled obvious uniform diagonal lines on and then stained and finished over. I attached 3 photos of this but there’s 7 or 8 more marks and they are all that exact same scribble, no variation. The birch lane/wayfare people passed the buck to the “manufacturer” who refuses to acknowledge that these marks are not expected with the type of distressing they have listed…. I waited weeks for this table to arrive and was so excited for it as it looks beautiful in most review pictures and most of the reviews are positive only to be gaslit by the customer service reps claiming this is the advertised distress. Not worth the money at all and I’m sick to my stomach at the treatment. So disappointing.
