Chairs both have gouges in the seats 3 inches by 1/2 inch’s and seat fronts that are not even. It’s almost as if the manufacturer thinks this is acceptable as the chair has been painted over these defects in the wood.

I ordered 6 of the side chairs in green. The chairs are a nice heavy weight and the color is beautiful. They have just the right amount of distressing.
