The desk itself is beautiful, made of solid oak with a greyish-brown stain. However, the box arrived with several holes and gashes in it. The FedEx drive was not particularly careful an d from the looks of the box, it had been subjected to lots of abuse along the way. Sadly, when I opened the packaging, I discovered two different gouges in the wood: one along the bottom of one drawer and the other in one of the side legs. These corresponded directly to the torn packaging and cannot be fixed. When I contacted Wayfair about the damage, they responded they could send me a replacement in 10 weeks!!! I like the desk but can't wait that long to switch from an overturned cardboard box of a desk to a real one. Now I have to figure out how to re-package the damaged desk so FedEx can pick it up and begin the search for another suitable one. So sad.
