It is a solid piece. My client didn't like the marble top, as it was splotchy in the middle. The center leg is square, not turned like the 4 outside legs, so we had to return it. It might be great in a room where you weren't seeing it from a distance/ low angle. Overall, a fine option, it just didn't work for this project/client.
