Floor-scale and full through the shoulder, this terracotta jar is built to be looked at rather than tucked away. Its tall, tapering body gives an empty corner something to do, and it takes a few dried branches when you want more height. Set it beside a sofa, in an entry or at the end of a console run.

It’s a nice vase, good size. The shape is off a little and the colors (although close to that of the pictures) didn’t work well for me. I did a bronze overpaint and now I love it.. Jay. Birmingham, AL. Wed Feb 07 2024

Marble carries weight in both senses, and in a piece this slender that weight is the point: a narrow stem vase that stays put. Veining runs differently through every piece, so each one is its own. Watertight inside, it holds a single bloom or a sprig of greenery, which is exactly the job a bud vase should do.

Love it! I purchased two! A 3rd is likely!. Sunshine. Brentwood, CA. Thu Feb 12 2026

Gourd shapes have a generosity to them, swelling out low and tapering to a narrow neck, and this terracotta vase follows that line exactly. A tight opening means one branch or a few dried stems look deliberate rather than sparse. Stand it on a console, a mantel or a dining table where the silhouette gets room.

Made in northern Peru using a classic batik process, the delicate vine motif is applied, then after firing, a paleta or wooden tool is used to gently remove it, revealing the raw clay below. In a Chulucanas tradition, the firing process involves smoked leaves, which has a resin that infuses the rich black pigment and shine.

Terracotta has a way of looking settled the moment it lands on a shelf, and this bottle shape leans into that entirely.
