The cushion is a beautiful navy velveteen, looks lovely on my taupe couch and ties in with the navy cream and taupe floral accent cushions. The only reason I gave four instead of five stars is because while stylish, the tassels and stitching are a bit itchy like bleached jute twine. So we just flip the pillow to the plain side if we want to use it for lumbar support. The cushion is firm with a little give. Color does not seem to rub off on clothes. No strong smell. Beautiful and nicely crafted. Even though this is predominantly pink, it somehow seems neutral and softens the look of my bedroom. Im glad the case is removable as I like to freshen up all of my pillows every season and ice water with mild detergent. I then roll them into a absorbent towel and lay them in front of a fan to dry..
