The cushion is a beautiful navy velveteen, looks lovely on my taupe couch and ties in with the navy cream and taupe floral accent cushions. The only reason I gave four instead of five stars is because while stylish, the tassels and stitching are a bit itchy like bleached jute twine. So we just flip the pillow to the plain side if we want to use it for lumbar support. The cushion is firm with a little give. Color does not seem to rub off on clothes. No strong smell.
