At first it was a 5 star, but after having it on the bed for a while it did have the "lint." I have 2, so can replace when one is washing. It has the ties inside to secure the comforter to it, and so far that's worked out. It's soft and comfortable, and most importantly it's not a magnet to the cat hair.
