True linen. Not the softest linen I’ve ever felt but if you want true linen, these are perfect. I’m hoping they soften after a few washes. After the first wash TONS of lint came out of the dryer trap.

This set is better than expected! Fit my pillows just fine. The design is very subtle which is what I wanted. Love the feel! Definitely have to get used to the look of linen - I did lightly iron them after the first wash and before the first use, but no problem now that they're in use. Will be back for more!
