We chose this one as the octagon shape seemed a bit easier to navigate around without hitting knees or shins on the corners of the square version - seems to have been a good choice.
For the price - at the lower end of the spectrum - this seems quite decent. Fit/finish are quite good if not perfect (the door to access the controls/propane tank closes and works fine but isn't a perfect fit). Flame output is quite even around the burner and looks quite nice.
Does not radiate a huge amount of heat - which means you could probably use the outer edges of the table for drinks, etc. with the burner on lower settings. We also originally had adirondack style chairs around it which, with the height of this fire pit also put the heat source up a fair amount higher than those seated around it - this does improve with more 'standard' style patio furniture.
