Each compartment has a removable bucket that can be fitted with a single standard liner for general waste or two smaller bags for separating different types of recycling. Totem also features a ventilated odor filter in the main lid that helps reduce moisture and odor build-up from waste. Totem comes with a removable food waste caddy that can be stored in either a compartment or on your counter. Stainless steel versions feature a fingerprint-proof coating, whilst the other models feature an easy-clean powder-coated steel finish.

Overall nice quality, but first can came with a dent (in photo). Customer service was very helpful and we were sent a replacement easily. A couple things to note: the compost section didn’t seal air tight so we experienced some gnats, and the carbon filter doesn’t do much to help with garbage smell. This garbage can is fantastic. I needed something that was more narrow for my kitchen because I broke my leg and need to get around easily. I love that you can open it from the top.
